AMBE Vocoder

Advanced Multi-band Excitation (AMBE®) is a digital ASTRO / ASTRO 25 vocoder (voice encoder) that allows for enhanced speech processing, as well as compatibility with Phase 2 of the Project 25 (P25 or APCO-25) Common Air Interface ("APCO" is the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials). AMBE provides further improvements in speech quality and robustness over IMBE (Improved Multi-band Excitation).
